Yesterday night I attended at the Opening Ceremony of Locarno Film Festival. This is the second consecutive year I attend at this event and honestly I like it because I always had the opportunity to discover and watch interesting movie. Last Year I saw the movie premier of Lucy by Luc Besson, and this year I watched “Ricky and the Flash” directed by Jonathan Demme with the incredibly Meryl Streep. Other actory of the movie are: Kevin Kline, Mamie Gummer, Sebastian Stan.

I really suggest everyone to watch this movie!

For the event I choose to wear a leopard dress. More details about my outfit at the end of this post.

Before to attend the movie premier I have been to the Leopard Club VIP Lounge for a glass of champagne and a little appetizer.

pilot movie “Winners” (whose theme was war actions in Zadar area from 1991 until 1995), was broadcasted on 22nd January 2009, at 20:30 hours, at Croatian Radio television. Namely, after the same was broadcasted on Croatian Radio television, there has been brought out a great interest for recording separate episodes which topics were dictated by the particular contents beyond the pilot movie after which started its realization. So far, 9 documentary movies/episodes are completed and ready for sale. Not even one episode has been broadcasted so far!

    OSIJEK, part 1 and 2

Osijek is the main urban center of Eastern Slavonia. After the enemy intelligence processing, in May 1991, the area north of Osijek on the left side of Drava River called Baranja was occupied. Enclaves with predominantly Croatian population on the right side of Drava River were cut off as well. This has created a basis for initiating the battle for Osijek that lasted until the end of 1991 with great human casualties and destruction.

VUKOVAR AND SRIJEM, part 1, 2 and 3

The southern part of the Eastern Slavonia battlefield marked the battle for Vukovar. Vukovar was close to the main directions of the enemy forces from Serbia to Zagreb. At the very beginning of the aggression, enemy forces created an impression that in Vukovar were concentrated strong Croatian forces. In fear of possible side impact of the Croatian forces, the enemy started the battle for Vukovar, which became the most important resistance point, Croatian Alamo, whose sacrifice has enabled Croatian defense.

    GACKA AND LIKA

After taking the initial positions and cutting off part of the Croatian enclaves north of the forested, mountainous parts of Gacka and Lika, the battles for this area had started. This inhabited, fertile area was standing across the front of a hostile breaking through, whose aim was cutting Croatia. To reach the coast, enemies have had to cross Gacka and Lika, but in September 1991, the Croatian forces had taken the first liberation action in the Croatian War of Independence. Through bloody battles, they defended, overtook and defeated the enemy forces.

    SOUTHERN BATTLEFIELD, part 1, 2 and 3

Behind the name of the Southern battlefield lies a battle for Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik and its wider area were entirely demilitarized, with no inter-ethnic conflicts. Beginning of the war in Croatia, Montenegrin government has seen as an opportunity to expand its borders, while the main goal of the enemy forces was breakthrough the valley of the Neretva River and download the Port of Ploce, a strategic resource and transportation corridor.
The enemy surrounded Dubrovnik, but Croatians defended it, although with terrible victims and poorly armed defenders. Croatian army had stopped enemy forces on the approaches to the valley by the end of 1991. In 1992 began an offensive by Croatian forces that stabilize the dividing line. Despite intense general attack of the enemy forces, Croatian forces broke, mastered all the valley of the Neretva River, rejected the enemy and launched quick lightning unblocking of Dubrovnik. In a series of operations by autumn 1992, Croatian army liberated the entire Dubrovnik area and the enemy forces heavily repressed by heavy sacrifices and panic escape……https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUstLfwn6zI
