Christmas is about giving. Giving time, love, gifts, a smile and an opportunity to make a difference.
I did not want to send out a traditional Christmas letter that includes a list of giftable items or recommendations for holiday movies.
This year I wanted to share Christmas traditions from around the world to spread awareness on how different cultures celebratate the holiday. You can read about it in my article called the five most unique Christmas celebrations.
Although every culture has their own Christmas traditions that make them unique, there is one symbolic item that unites the spirit of Christmas in us all, light.
Light is a symbol of life, truth and reason, based on knowledge. Have you ever wondered why during Christmas the streets are beautifully illuminated or our homes are decorated with candles? Candles represent the light that is given to all men at Christmas. For Christians, the light of the candle represents the coming of the Messiah, while for others candles represent hope, peace, joy and love. In Judaism, there is a festival of lights, Hannukkah, a famous Jewish holiday that commemorates the consecration of a new altar in the Temple of Jerusalem. In Hinduism, there is a festival of lights, Diwalior Dipavali,is one of the most important festivals in Hindu culture. During these five days of celebration, candles are lit in honor of the return of King Rama to Ayodhya, an ancient city located in Uttar Pradesh. During this holiday, in addition to lighting the lights, Hindu’s exchange gifts, celebrations are held to bring the family together & brothers promise love and protection to their sisters. I had the opportunity to see and experience this wonderful tradition during my recent trip to Nepal to visit the orphanage.
There is a lot more I can say about these beautiful traditions that have deep meaning behind them. However, the essence of these traditions is light. The mission of light is to illuminate the minds of men and bring them to knowledge and awareness.
As an influencer, I want to share more than just fashion trends. It is my responsibility to convey important information, sound values and set good examples that can help the world be a better place and make a difference in the lives of my followers.
To make a differencein my life and work I decided to apply commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental wellbeing.
Through my new eco-sustainable collectionI support a humanitarian project in Nepal. This is my conscious fashion program:to have a positive impact by offering quality handmade products, avoiding unnecessary harm to the environment we live in today and for future generations.
By purchasing a dress from my collection or the new “make fashion not war” t-shirt, you will help to support Vita for Nepal charity project. If you would like to make a direct contribution to Vita Associationyou can donate to VITA UBS AG account, Lugano, Switzerland IBAN: CH200024724713726240B & BIC: UBSWCHZH80A
Thank you very much for your help and support.
We all have the opportunity to make a difference, so you should too!
I hope after reading my Christmas letter, you are in the spirit of giving too! I will continue to pursue my commitment, dedication and passion to inspiring a new generation of people to make the world a better place.
My best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
