Editor’s letter by Valentina Nessi
In the spring, not only does the season change and flowers bloom, but we also feel the desire to be outdoors, get in shape and indulge in eating amazing fruits.
Most importantly, with the arrival of the new season comes the time to change your wardrobe – going from the winter to spring and summer – what should you wear?
The main trends for the spring season are:
Pink in all of its shades
From clothes to accessories, pink is the color of the season. Luckily, pink is my favorite color!
April is the month of the famous music festival ‘Coachella’ that is held every year on the second and third weekend of the month, in Palm Springs California. It is from this festive atmosphere that the Swiss jewelry brand de Grisogono was inspired to create the new jewelery collection called “Crazymals” which tells the story of a group of friends – animated creatures – on a journey from Hollywood to Palm Springs.
This past Sunday, April 16th was Easter. The symbol of Easter is an egg.
Originally, the egg was considered a sacred symbol of spring and a valuable source of food, rich in nutrients. For this reason and for its perfect shape, it was considered one of the wonders of nature and became a symbol of abundance and fertility. In the middle ages, the Church wanted to replace the egg tradition with Christian ideas of resurrection and rebirth, so the Easter egg tradition has almost disappeared. Fortunately, this tradition continues today, the egg is recognized worldwide as a symbol of Easter.
During Easter, I enjoy many chocolate eggs. To be specific, this year, I enjoyed three! In addition to the chocolate, there are the precious jeweled eggs, my first thought goes to Fabergé, jeweler of the Russian Tsars court.
Since jewelry is a great passion of mine, I attended Baselworld, the world’s most famous watch and jewelry show. In this occasion I was able to report a documentary video in which you will find the interview of two brands that among all particularly caught my attention: Roberto Demeglio and Alessio Boschi.
Lastly, I will soon travel to Nepal, to continue my volunteer project with Vita Association and Conscious Impact to work together for the reconstruction of an orphanage. While I am there, I will have limited access to internet, so I will not be able to publish many articles on the blog, however I will try to keep you updated on Instagram. Follow me on @valentinanessi and @vitaassociation for all the upcoming news.
Heartfelt thanks and greetings to all
